“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you a hope and a future.”
— Jeremiah 29:11
This was God’s promise to Israel after their 70 years of captivity in Babylon was completed. Whatever happens and wherever the circumstances of life may take you, God has an ultimate plan to redeem, reclaim and restore you IF we trust Him and remain faithful.
This point is illustrated heavily in the life of Joseph, son of Jacob:
“[…] And the patriarchs, becoming envious, sold Joseph into Egypt. But God was with him and delivered him out of all his troubles, and gave him favor and wisdom in the presence of Pharaoh, king of Egypt; and he made him governor over Egypt and all his house.
— Acts 7:9, 10
Though our journey in life often takes a route that we wouldn’t purposely choose, know that God has a plan! It’s pretty incredible to see what God did in Joseph’s life as he remained faithful. Joseph’s journey began at the age of 17 and led him from the promise, to the pit, to the prison, to the PALACE!
God has a plan! Believe in and hold onto the dream that God has given you. Joseph remained faithful to God for 13 years before his dream began to come true. Then, seven plus years later it was fulfilled!
R.W. Moss said, “Joseph allowed neither misery nor a career of triumph to eclipse the sense of divine destiny.
What are some dreams that God has planted in your heart that you are trusting God to bring to pass? How are any challenges that you’re currently facing preparing and giving you a hope for the future that is described in Jeremiah 29:11?
